Minor updates

Changed some CSS rules and some links, no big deal.

At last

3 months and 1 day since last post? Wow. What a slacker you turned out to be.
Anywho, it's Halloween and here's your treat:
The reCAPTCHA dealie is finally up and active on the contact page. It's only took me 15 minutes of serious thought/work. I could've done this months ago when I first mentioned it.

problems

My internet service has been on the blink for a while now, thus the lack of updates. I really gotta get moving on that capthcha thing, because the spam has rolled right in.

Human verifcation, part 2

This isn't quite as easy as I hoped. The technology is called CAPTCHA (read more at Wikipedia).
At this point I'm opting for a service called reCAPTCHA, which uses the words to help digitize books. Sounds like a good thing.

It looks like this is going to take some serious back end which I could honestly use more practice doing anyway.

But not today. I just made myself a lovely margarita with fresh squeezed key lime juice. So that's what I'm doing right now.

human verification

I'm looking into this. You know those little pictacodes where you have to enter a blurry word or number combination to prove that you're not some sort of spam bot.
I've received enough gibberish emails through my site to want to try this. Hopefully it'll be up in the next day or so.

Progress report

Resume is up. Web, compositing, and video sections of my portfolio have been updated and
are active. Just letting you know.

Who are you?

Survey

Take the survey if you're a web person too.

Here's why I took it: http://www.zeldman.com/2007/04/25/the-profession-that-dare-not-speak-its-name/
Love Zeldman, love A List Apart. Gotta learn somewhere.

In case you're wondering...

The bit on the home page that says, "lies told" refers to image retouching and manipulation.

That doesn't mean I won't lie to you.

New toys.

I just started playing with the new Adobe Dreamweaver CS3. The interface is obviously different than my old WYSIWYG, but then again GoLive is dead. So far, so good.

Better still.

Switched to Georgia serif family. Hit the road Trebuchet!
Post titles are still Verdana, and they'll stay that way for now.

Cleaner.

"About Me" section gone. I didn't care for the description either. A little bit more template editing and we'll be there.

Getting better.

It's getting better, but I'm still not loving it. The CSS is a little dense (read: more complex than I'm used to) and I'd like to shrink down or remove the "About Me" section as it's ugly and unnecessary to me. I'll delve into that at another time.

Yuck. Default is ugly.

This thing is huge. You will not need glasses. Not yet anyway. I've got some CSS editing to do.

Learning to blog.

This is the first attempt at incorporating a blog into a web page that is hosted elsewhere. We'll see how this works so that I can add this to my bag of programming tricks. No comments for this one.
